Weatherization (Retrofit) Installer training provides the groundwork for new/existing weatherization workers who would like to increase their knowledge of the weatherization and energy conservation field. Topics covered include “Introduction to Weatherization”, “Safe Work Practices”, “At the Job Site”, and much more. The curriculum for this course is aligned with the NREL Job Task Analyses (JTAs).

Students will be evaluated during this course by the instructor through observation, hands on lab exercises and classroom participation. Retrofit Installer course participants are given verbal quizzes and evaluated during the hands on lab portion of the training as well as a field evaluation during OJT (on-the-job training). This is a 32 hour session taught over 4 days.
