Sustainability Studies at University Without Walls

UMass Amherst - Continuing and Professional Education

PROGRAM INFO

Students need more than technical knowledge to be successful in the emerging green economy. For example, those interested in acquiring a job in the energy field would have an advantage if he or she also has a background in general business areas such as marketing, accounting, and personnel management. In addition, he or she needs to understand the larger context of sustainability as a new model for social and economic life. Finally, it’s also important to understand the particular issues and problems that confront those committed to sustainability in a world that is becoming, but is not yet, green. An individualized bachelor’s degree in a sustainability-related field from the UMass Amherst University Without Walls program will help students get the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the emerging green economy.
