PROGRAM INFO

Students in the HVAC program are introduced to refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning practice and principals. Students learn how to size refrigeration parts, such as; compressors, filter driers, metering devices, low, and high-pressure refrigerant lines. In addition, students receive instruction on electrical fundamentals and operation of series and parallel circuits. Students will learn how to interpret electric schematics and read electrical wiring diagrams.

In addition, students will receive 100 hours of Massachusetts Electrical Code and 100 hours of refrigeration theory/code hours necessary for application as a Refrigeration and/or Oil Burner Apprentice Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Students will also have the opportunity to take section 608 of the Federal Clean Air Act exam.
