The Center for EcoTechnology’s (CET) BPI Building Analyst course is a five-day intensive preparation to take BPI’s written test and field exam. The training provides an overview of basic building science concepts, combustion safety, and the “House as a system” approach to energy auditing and home performance contracting.

The agenda includes heat transfer, thermal comfort, moisture management, airflow standards, baseload reduction strategies, building envelope inspection, air sealing and insulation techniques, locating thermal and pressure boundaries, pressure diagnostics, mechanical ventilation requirements, duct leakage testing, and combustion safety.

This course is best suited for those individuals who have a background in construction, contracting, home performance or inspection industries. High school level algebra and geometry will be utilized.
