PROGRAM INFO

The Building Energy Efficient Maintenance Skills (BEEMS) Program is a 22 week job training program that teaches the fundamentals and basics of building repair and maintenance. Students learn carpentry, plumbing, electricity and appliance repair by combining hands-on training and classroom learning.

Students will also learn about weatherization and energy efficiency concepts to prepare for a job as a building maintenance technician. After classes, there is a 5 week internship that allows students to gain experience working for property management companies, hotels, and schools. AACA also helps graduates with job placement and professional development.

Qualified students can apply for a voucher to receive free training. AACA will help students through this process. They are also partnered with the City of Cambridge and City of Boston to provide free training to eligible residents.
