This program of study includes Oceanography and Marine Science coursework designed to meet the needs of the student who wishes to obtain an in-depth awareness of coastal and marine systems. The course will include a study of the physical, chemical and geological aspects of oceanography, marine biology, the coastal environment and the interrelationships among the disciplines. From energy technologies to farming students will examine and analyze techniques and concepts related to sustainable living. A major area of focus will be energy consumption in relation to heating, cooling, transportation and electricity needs. In addition, students will explore their personal lives and steps they can take to have a more positive impact on the world. In addition, students will have the opportunity to receive their OSHA 40hr certification through this course.
