The bachelor of science in civil engineering (BSCE) program prepares students for a professional career in civil engineering. Major areas of technical concentration are environmental, geotechnical, structural and water resources engineering. Students completing this program are also well qualified for a professional career in Civil and Environmental Engineering, graduate study in engineering, construction, architecture, business, management, and law. Program objectives are achieved by developing a broad understanding of civil engineering, its relationship to the fundamental engineering sciences, and its interaction with the humanities, arts, and social sciences. The curriculum emphasizes the application of basic science, computing, and mathematics to the particular needs of the engineer.
