Professor

A Professor teaches students through lectures and guides them to develop research, dissertations, or thesis-based papers as well as conducting their own research at a university. A tenured Professor is the highest rank at a university (Assistant Professor, to Associate Professor, to Professor). The Professor has demonstrated significant research for clean energy technology, taught lectured courses, and has been involved in community service for a number of years. Separately, a Research Professor focuses primarily on research for the university and seldom teaches.

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

A Professor at a Massachusetts’ university teaches a course on environmental policy and sustainability. In addition to preparing lectures, tests, and assignments, the Professor also guides several graduate students’ dissertations on how energy policy affects climate change. The results of the student research drives the university to install energy efficiency measures and increase monitoring to ensure compliance with local energy policies.
